Genetics that last
Adding value through strategic breeding and management techniques
Why Katahdins
-
Low Maintenance
Katahdins require little hands-on care throughout the year. They are a hair breed which removes the need for shearing. Ewes usually lamb on their own, are good mothers, and produce an excess of milk for their lambs. Katahdins can be pastured year round, which also provides the ability to lamb on pasture.
-
High Prolificacy
Katahdins generally have 1 to 3 lambs from per pregnancy. We lamb out of season, with most of our lambs being born in the winter, and have averaged 1.8+ lambs per ewe for the life of the farm. It is possible to have more than one lambing in one year with proper management and commitment.
-
Versatile
Katahdins can thrive in a variety of climates and conditions. They can grow a winter coat and forage on multiple legumes and grass varieties. This adaptability has made the Katahdin breed to become very popular in North America.

We offer three primary solutions for a variety of needs
Replacement Ewes and Rams
Our strategic breeding program produces quality sheep. The addition of these to existing flocks or used as starter flocks strengthens the overall genetics adding to your program and building a solid foundation for years to come.
Homesteading Starter Flocks
We offer a limited number of starter flocks for homesteading efforts each year. These flocks include 3-5 ewes and 1 breeding ram. The flocks are paired each year for sound genetics and production of the flock. This provides you with the opportunity to raise your own livestock for food or sale.
Grass Fed Lamb
With supply chain issues and uncertainty in meat production we offer peace of mind. Our lambs are primarily grass fed and are given the utmost care. This provides natural tasting meat, without steroids or growth hormones.
